Promise loved her new role in life and quickly developed into a loving, caring, and devoted mother. She enjoyed spending time at home, but her work began to call to her. She missed the bustling hospital and the excitement her career brought to her life. Promise was eager to return not only for the patients, because she was also up for another promotion. She had spent most of her maternity leave studying for her next exam and was anxious to take it. However, she didn’t want to hire a nanny yet; she knew they would need to eventually, but she wanted to wait until Heart was older.
Mitch came home that night with wonderful news for his wife; he had been promoted! Promise was thrilled for him, but, at the same time she felt a tinge of jealousy. The tinge quickly died when Mitch announced that with the promotion came extra time off, so Promise could return to work. She threw her arms around his neck and squeezed him tight. She was thrilled, Mitch would care for Heart and she could concentrate on passing her medical exam.
