“Mom’s letting her best friend move into the house,” Sara Beth whined into the phone.
“Really, who is her best friend again,” the voice on the other end asked.
“Oh daddy, you remember Auntie Imogen, don’t you?”
“Ah yes, I faintly remember Imogen.”
“Auntie Imogen is strange,” Sara Beth said grimacing. “All she ever talks about is money and boys. I’m afraid mom is going to start going to clubs with her.”
“Your mother isn’t the club hopping type,” Granite, Sara Beth’s father said in an attempt to console her. “I highly doubt much will change.”
“I wish I could come live with you.”
“Someday pumpkin, but we will get to see more of each other, now that I’ve moved back to Veronaville.”
“Have you told mom yet that you’ve moved back?”
“No Sara Beth, I thought I would surprise her with a visit,” Granite said with a soft laugh.
