The Diary of Nina
This week has been the worst week of my entire life. Our house was broken into, again (three nights this week; I swear there is a sign outside saying: “Free stuff inside, just come in and take it.”)!

At least, I finally managed to put in a burglar alarm, so the last time the thief showed up, the police were finally able to arrest him.

The next morning, I received a hefty check in the mail; apparently, there was a reward for “capturing” that nasty burglar. So, I took the money and bought myself a car. (Yay, no more having to ride in that stinky taxi or carpool!) Dina wasn’t impressed with my decision; she thought I should have waited and bought a nicer vehicle, but I just wanted one that ran. Plus, I figured if it was too beneath her, she wouldn’t want to drive it.
That night, I gussied myself up and headed downtown to check out the nightlife.

I felt so free in my new car, like I could drive anywhere and escape my miserable little life. (Work was just dragging me down; I hated being a golf caddy to the snobby, socialites of Pleasantview and Don, my on-again-off-again boyfriend was starting to act strange, again…I think he is seeing another woman, so I definitely deserved a night out.) Anyway, I arrived at this funky little club in the village and sat at the bar to survey the room.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t really much to see…I guess the cute men don’t come out until later. So, I pacified myself by making fun of one of the locals, trying to sing the latest pop song (why do people that can’t carry a note, insist on torturing the ears of an entire bar with their screeching).

I was about to jump back into my car and drive home (I did have to be to work in a couple of hours), when I turned around and bumped right into Alan.

He gave me a hug and starting chatting me up; I was surprised to see him (this club just didn’t seem like his style), but I certainly wasn’t going to turn away his advances. He was an amazing man and I definitely wanted our relationship to blossom into more. Unfortunately, I had to cut the night short, when Cassandra Goth walked into the bar. (I’m not sure if she knows about my relationship with her fiance, Don, but I didn’t want to stay and find out.) I bid adieu to Alan and promised to call him the next evening.
Hmmm…diary, looking back on the week, it wasn’t all that bad. Actually, parts of it were quite pleasant; just goes to show you that I, Nina Caliente, can turn any situation into a great one. Well, it really is very late and I need my beauty sleep. Night, night diary and remember to save some pages for my ink.
Love,
Nina

Wow, those are some really great shots of nightlife. I especially like the one where Nina is booing the singing townie, that was funny! I’ve never been robbed before, so I didn’t know you could get money from it. That’s pretty cool. It seems like this girl is just asking for trouble, but what else can you expect from a Romance Sim? Can’t wait for the next update!
I’m really enjoying this whole Nina as narrator thing you’ve started. It’s interesting because we all know the characters so it’s quite easy to get involved in the story right off the bat, unlike stories where the characters are brand new and the writer needs to develop them before the actual story can begin. So nice work with this, I hope you continue it. I also like seeing glimpses of the others in Pleasentview through Nina’s eyes. Good stuff.
