The Diary of Nina

I love gossip, diary and I’m fortunate to have a best friend like Brandi Broke; she always knows the latest tidbits about our neighbors. Every Wednesday afternoon she calls me with the latest news; we’re usually on the phone for a couple hours, chatting and laughing. I was really looking forward to her call this week (I needed some cheering up, since my fight with Dina), but I could instantly tell by Brandi’s tone of voice that she had something awful to tell me.

I sat in the kitchen with baited breathe as she reluctantly shared her story with me. Honestly, I don’t remember every detail (I’ve tried to block most of it from my memory), but I can give you the gist of the story, diary.

Well, the night before (Tuesday evening) Dina and I had a huge fight (remember, diary). Once the screaming and yelling was done, I headed up to bed to get some sleep and to make my headache go away. I figured Dina would stay would downstairs and watch some TV or workout on her weight machine, but I assumed wrong. According to Brandi, Dina stole my car again and headed downtown to one of the seedier clubs in Pleasantview.

Dina ended up running into Don, my off-again-on-again boyfriend, and they seemed to hit it off quite nicely.

Brandi said that Dina and Don spent the entire evening together on the dance floor and by the time the club closed, they had become much better acquainted.

Once Brandi had finished giving me all the gory details, I just sat with the phone pressed to my ear. I just couldn’t believe that Dina and Don would betray me like that. I know that Don isn’t the most faithful man, but I never thought he would have an affair with my sister and I never imagined my sister stealing my boyfriend. Brandi wanted to know what I was going to do (I’m sure the entire Pleasantview gossip grapevine wanted to know), but I couldn’t give her any answers. I had to speak with Dina first and see if she had any explanation. I told Brandi that I would call her later, once I knew what I was going to do. She wished me luck and said goodbye (I think she was disappointed that I hadn’t provided her with another juicy story).

So, here I am, diary, sitting in my room, trying to figure out what I am going to do about Dina. I just don’t know how to handle the situation. I wish I had a normal sister. Well, I am going to go and take a long bath, maybe that will help me figure out what to do. Write more later, diary.

Love,
Nina
