The Diary of Nina

Oh goodness diary, it has been so long since I have written to you. I must apologize for my lack of attention, but I’ve been extremely busy and my life has been in a bit of an upheaval. As you know, the last time I wrote I was busy packing my belongings and moving out of the house I shared with my slimy, no good sister, Dina. Brandi, my good friend, allowed me to stay with her, until I could find a new home (I think she welcomed the extra set of hands). I’ve been very busy searching for a new place to live and walked through dozens of awful little shacks. Thankfully my new boyfriend, Alan (remember him), helped to find me the perfect place downtown. It is an adorable, brick home and has two bedrooms (plenty of room for little ‘ole me).

I was sad to leave Brandi’s, it was nice staying with a friend, but I was also relieved to finally be out on my own. Alan aided in making my transition to being by myself much easier, by taking me out at night and keeping my mind off what had happened with Dina.

Speaking of Dina, even though I try not to mention her name, well, she hasn’t tried to contact me. I doubt she would, I’m sure she is quite pleased with herself and enjoying the freedom of having the house all to her lonsome. However, Brandi has told me some juicy gossip about her. I guess I wasn’t the only one to hear about Don and her. Mr. Goth caught wind of their relationship and fired Dina from his company. (I guess that was his way of breaking up with her.)

Brandi also said, that Dina has been spending most of her time at one of the seedier nightclubs downtown and she has started making some questionable acquaintances.

I don’t know what she is up to hanging around with people like that, but you can be sure Dina has some sort of plan up her sleeve. Well, I’m afraid it is getting late and I still have a ton of unpacking to do. I will write more later and remember to save some pages for my ink.

Love,
Nina

The Ash Family, Growing Up and Out

Jonathon: I knew something like this was going to happen, I just wish I could have stopped it. I should have been able to stop it.

Natasha: Oh Jon, you can’t blame yourself, mom’s an adult; she makes her own decisions.

Jonathon: I know that, Tasha, but still…I should have done something. DA@#! I’m going for a run; I need to clear my mind.

Natasha: Oh goodness, I’m so sorry you had to hear all that, but I’m afraid Jon is really upset. Honestly, the entire family is pretty ticked off. It’s a long story, so I hope you are prepared. Well, the last time you visited, Jonathon told you about mom and Mr. Dupree (Zane). The two of them had been seeing quite a bit of each other lately and they were getting closer and closer…

The Morgan Family, Normal Teen??

Oh, your back to learn more about me?!?! Hmmm…I’m surprised. Honestly, my life isn’t that interesting, I know, most teenagers would love the opportunity to live on their own. (No parents telling them what to, being able to make their own decisions, etc.) But, really I can’t afford to act wild and crazy. I have to keep up the appearance that there is someone at home taking care of me. I don’t want to cast suspicion into my family, so I have to take a lot of care, making sure my house is up to par.

The Dupree Family, Gramps Speaks

Good Morning, eh. Glad to see ya’all decided to drop in on the Dupree family, again. Last time my lovely daughter, Serena, narrated our story, but dis time she’s busy working on a promotion. (Dat woman is always got her nose in a book.)

Well, our family’s starting to get into a groove around here and we seem to be settlen’ in nicely, eh. I must admit dat I’m happy to have someone preparing home cooked meals, again. (Molly was a terrific cook, but I never picked up dat art. Thank goodness Serena followed in her ma’s footsteps.) I’ve insisted dat the entire family gathers at dinner time to talk over our days (dat’s the only way we can keep track of one another).

The Ash Family, Three Cheers for Mom

Jonathon: Our mom is the greatest! (I know that sounds weird coming from a teen, but it is true.) She’s been through a lot since dad die and I admire her for keeping our family together.

Natasha: Whatcha doing, Jon?!?!

Jonathon: Nothing kiddo, just talking about mom.

Natasha: Mom’s the best! She’s always willing to help with my homework and I love when she gives me hugs.

Jonathon: That’s what I’ve been saying, how great mom is. She hasn’t had it easy, either. Mom never got a chance to go college (she got pregnant with me instead) and after I was born, she decided to stay home with me, while dad went out and worked. Well, after the boat tragedy, mom had to figure out what do. She ended up moving Natasha and I to Florida to live with grandma Stone (mom’s mom).

Natasha: I don’t remember Florida.

Jonathon: That’s because you were only a few months old when we were there and we only stayed for a few months. Mom just needed sometime to clear her head and figure out what she needed to do next.

Natasha: Oh, I see. I wish I could remember Florida, though. I love warm weather and we don’t get enough of it here.

Jonathon: Well, maybe we will be able to take a vacation to Florida someday. Anyway, mom moved us back here to Glacier Bay and started looking for a job. All she could find was an opening as a waitress at the local restaurant, but she hated that job. (Plus, she was gone for long hours and didn’t get to spend much time with Natasha.) So, she finally took the plunge and started taking night classes (I think she majored in biology) at the local community college. Now mom is working her way up at the local hospital and she loves her job, plus she’s home a lot more.

Natahsa: Is that why she keeps tellin me to study hard, so I can go to college?!?!

Jonathon: I’m sure that is one of the reasons…

Selene: Natasha! Bed time!

Natasha: Oh mom, do I haft to?

Selene: Yes, you do. Now get moving!

Natash: Okay fine, good night Jonathon.

Jonathon: Night kiddo. Well, everything about mom is pretty great, everything except…her taste in guys. She hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to picking boyfriends. Most of them run away screaming once they lay eyes on Natasha and me. (I guess we aren’t exactly guy magnets.) Mom has a new “man” in her life, right now. His name is Zane, Zane Dupree and he seems like another loser. (Not mention I can’t stand his jerk of a nephew, Christian. Now that kid has issues.)

I just hope this relationship doesn’t end as badly as some of the others; mom deserves a break. *Yawn* Its getting late and I still have some homework to finish; I guess I’ll catch ‘ya later.
