The Dupree Family, Gramps Speaks
Good Morning, eh. Glad to see ya’all decided to drop in on the Dupree family, again. Last time my lovely daughter, Serena, narrated our story, but dis time she’s busy working on a promotion. (Dat woman is always got her nose in a book.)
Well, our family’s starting to get into a groove around here and we seem to be settlen’ in nicely, eh. I must admit dat I’m happy to have someone preparing home cooked meals, again. (Molly was a terrific cook, but I never picked up dat art. Thank goodness Serena followed in her ma’s footsteps.) I’ve insisted dat the entire family gathers at dinner time to talk over our days (dat’s the only way we can keep track of one another).

I enjoy dat time I get to spend with my family, but Serena and Zane usually end up ruining the dinner. (’Hose darn children need to grow-up.)

Anyways, enough ’bout dinnertime…
I’m sure you can tell by the pictures dat dere has been a change in Serena. I’m not sure what is up wit’ dat girl, but she came home a few weeks ago wit’ a new hairdo and make-up. Then she went out and spent all her money on some new clothes (as her pa, I don’t approve of the new look, but what can I say…she’s an adult).

I t’ink she’s trying to attract another husband, but I shudder at the thought of what she will bring home lookin’ like dat, eh.
Well, I ‘pose dat’s enough about Serena; I’m sure dere will be more to tell about her and her new look in a few more weeks. On to my lazy son, Zane. He is up to his old tricks and no one is real happy wit’ him right now. I’m gettin’ pretty tired of always finding him laying around the house, eh.

‘Dat boy needs to get off the couch and find himself a real job. (I won’t be ’round forever to support him.) I ‘pose, though, dat it is better he stay home then go to da club; he just gets into trouble when he is out. ‘Parently his last trip downtown ended in a “slapfest”…

‘Course he didn’t tell me what happened, but I overheard him talking to one of his friends ’bout the incident. He said he was out on a date with Celeste Rusewiz and ‘nother woman dat he was seeing showed up at da same club and had a fit dat he was dere wit’ another woman. (Can’t say dat I blame her.) So, t’is other woman went into a rage and slapped Zane a good one. Zane didn’t seemed phased by the whole incident, in fact, he continued on wit’ his date like nuttin’ happened. (I’m tellin’ ya dat boy needs an attitude adjustment!)

Otherwise, ‘hose darn kids are still snipping at each other, but I can’t blame Serena for hollerin’ at Zane. She’s heard ’bout him dating Selene Ash and she’s worried ’bout his intentions wit’ her. (She’s got a soft spot for single mothers, since she is one now.) ‘Course Zane doesn’t t’ink he should have to ‘plain anything to his little sister.

I don’t like all the yellin’, but ‘hose two will never listen to me. (I’ve given up trying to get them to behave.)
My grandson is still causing trouble and gettin’ into fights, but Serena is tryin’ her best to care for him.

He does seem to have found some ways of curbing his aggression. Serena bought him an easel and some paints and he has been spendin’ all his free time dere. (Christian is actually pretty good with them paints; I t’ink he may even earn a scholarship from them.)

Christian has made one friend at Glacier Bay High and I must say, she is a pretty little thing. (Just hope he nevers gets the urge to put her in a head lock and give her a noogie.)

All-in-all, I t’ink the boy will be just fine, once he gets over his anger at his dad for leaving. (I’m just glad I’m here to help him find his way in da world.)
Well, dere isn’t much left to tell about da family…I’m doing well, been promoted to convenience store clerk and I’m still spending time with Laci. She’s a real special lady and I’m glad I have her in my life. Hope everyone will come back for another visit to our household, I’m sure my children will have more stories to tell soon.

Looks like you’re on a roll. It seems like you’re having fun playing all of these different families. I enjoy reading about their adventures.
Woo I love Serena’s hair and Zane’s too. Great job!
