The Dupree Family, Ups and Downs

Serena Dupree narrating: Oh goodness, you’re back. Wait, I didn’t mean that the way it sounded, I’m happy you’ve decided to join the Dupree family again. It’s just that we’ve had a few problems and things around here are a little out of sorts. I’m afraid our house was broken into a few night ago.

The sneaky burglar crept up to the house late at night, while everyone was sleeping and walked right in the front door. (Until now, no one in Glacier Bay bothered to lock their doors.) Luckily, Zane heard the burglar walking around and was able to get to the phone and call the police. (The first time Zane has ever done something useful; it’s about time.) The police arrived quickly to the house and proceeded to try and apprehend the burglar. (Zane described the fight to the rest of the family that morning during breakfast; he said it was quite the sight to see.)

I woke up in time to see the police officer handcuffing the burglar and leading her away. (I must say I was a bit frantic when I saw it, but I tried to hide my fear. I hate Zane seeing any weakness in me.)

The rest of that night, I spent tossing and turning in my bed. I couldn’t get over the sight of a stranger standing in the middle of our living with a bag full our belongings. Fortunately, after I arrived home from work that night, dad had some good news. Apparently there was a reward for catching the burglar and our family received a nice check from the precint. Dad was able to buy replacements for all the things she stole, a new, high tech burglar alarm and a nice surprise for the entire family…he bought a HOT TUB!

Well, now you know the reason why I am narrating this entry. I’m afraid that new hot tub is getting quite a workout. I swear that Zane and dad are permanently “pruned” from all the time they spend in there. Of course, neither of them are alone when they’re soaking. I guess I’ll just wait till I have someone special, before I use the new hot tub. (The way my love life is going, I’m never going to get a chance to enjoy that hot tub.)

Dad and Laci are getting quite close, but he has assured Zane and I that he won’t ever marry her. He doesn’t think it’s fair to her, since he is nearing death (I hate when he talks like that). I must admit that I’m relieved; I definitely did not want a new step mom that is younger then me. Otherwise, things are going pretty good. I have a new job; I’m now a science teacher at Glacier Bay High. I definitely don’t intend on making a career out of it, but it is on the path to greatness in the science field.

Christian was a bit angry when I first told him that I would be taking a position at his school, but he has learned to ignore my presence. He is still hard at work on his painting and he also dating a lovely girl named Ivy. They’ve been seeing quite a bit of one another. (I’m just happy that he is finally finding his place here.)

Well, I’m afraid I must get going, lots of papers to finish grading. I believe Zane will actually participate next time and share our families’ story, in fact, I think he mentioned that he has something important to talk about. Anyway, it was good talking to you all and I hope to see you soon.

I only have one bad thing to say… your story is too short! ;) HAHA– I’m just messin with you. I love the little glimpse you give us into your sims lives. And what makes it even more interesting is how you rotate through them and not focus on one. This one is a good one as well! Thanks for the fun read! :)
