Gypsy Rose
Parenthood, Pt. 3
Roslynn’s break from work was quickly coming to an end, she was happy in a way to be returning to the office (she missed her colleagues and the excitement her work brought her), but she knew she would miss spending time with her children. She still had a birthday for Anna to plan, though, before she could return to her council-member duties. Thomas left explicit directions for her, on how to create an amazing birthday cake and she arranged for Tony to come home early from school. She wanted the family gathered in the kitchen to help her baby celebrate her transition into toddler hood.
The morning passed quickly and Roslynn had successfully managed to decorate the kitchen and prepare a lopsided cake, she sighed as she looked around the room.
“It’s perfect, just like my family.”
Everyone gathered together, huddled around the birthday girl and watched as she attempted to blow out her candles.
Roslynn’s eyes filled with tears, as she set Anna down and watched her blossom into a little girl.
Thomas picked his daughter up and held her tight, he hated seeing his children grow. He wished he could keep them babies forever, but knew it wasn’t possible. Anna was screeching in delight, as Thomas’s beard tickled her cheek.
“I bet you are in the mood for some birthday cake,” Thomas said gently, as he placed her in the highchair. “Here you go darling, eat up.”
Roslynn smiled contentedly to herself, as she watched Thomas interact with Anna. He loved their family so much, she couldn’t have asked for a better husband. He turned slightly and caught Roslynn staring at him, his cheeks flushed; she had still had that affect on him, even after all these years.
Thomas crossed the kitchen quickly and grabbed Roslynn into a passionate embraced.
“I love you, Roslynn,” Thomas whispered into her ear.
“I love you, too.”
“I’ll take Anna and get her ready for bed, why don’t you go in the living room and relax. I know you have been busy today.”
“That sounds like a good plan,” Roslynn sighed. “I can work on these dishes later.”
She watched Thomas’s back, as he walked out of the kitchen, with a squealing Anna in his arms; he was wonderful, her family was beautiful and she was happy. Why, then, did have a nagging feeling in her stomach; something was missing and she didn’t know what it was.

WoW what a wonderful update this story has got me hooked!
Oooooh! I LOVE the ending! Such cute tods and what a wonderful hubby! I DO wonder what’s leaving her empty inside…
Why can’t people just be happy?
Is that custom skin on the baby? It looks a bit strange as custom skin is often made for teens and up, not babies, even though she’s a cute little girl.
I believe the kids got the custom skintone I used on Roslynn, but I do have default replacements, so that may be why the skin looks different.
I suppose if everyone was always happy, there would be no drama to write about and who doesn’t love drama…LOL!!
Glad to see some new faces reading my blog, I look forward to reading everyone’s comments!
Wonderful update! Ooh, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Loving it Carrie!! Look forward to more and more..
I love Anastasia’s new hair!
Oh Dear - not a nagging feeling… that’s never good! Just as everything’s starting to look good…
Aww, Anastasia is a cutie pie! (But whew, scary that she fits her whole fist into her mouth!) That’s great how much in love they still are.
But what’s Roslynn’s nagging feeling? Last time she had a feeling, it was when her place got robbed. She needs to listen to her instincts!
Awww, Anna looks a lot like her brother. It must be hard for Roslynn to go back to work. Our time with our children when they are small goes far too quickly.
