Gypsy Rose“Green Lights”
The following is directly from Roslynn’s diary…
I never thought I would have to return to the pages of my diary to air my deepest secrets, but I find myself once again with no one to turn to. I could go to my family and tell them everything that happened yesterday evening, but I am afraid they will think I’m crazy. In fact, I’m not even exactly sure I know what happened myself. I don’t think I could ever properly explain the events to Thomas or the kids, without them deciding I’ve become a ‘batty’ old lady.
It truly was the strangest thing I’d ever seen and I sincerely hope I never see it again. Days after my birthday, I was still getting used to being an elder (it’s amazing how much you truly do change with age) and the schedule my body now keeps. (Lately, I’ve been an extremely early riser, earlier then I ever had been.) It was still pitch black outside and the rest of my family was soundly sleeping, so I went out to our telescope to do a little stargazing (an activity I don’t get to partake in much with my busy work schedule). I stood in the damp grass, squinted through the eye piece and fiddled with the dials until I found the big dipper. The stars were shining so brightly, the view took my breath away. I glanced back at the house quickly to make sure no one had stirred inside and then look back into the telescope. I gasped at what I saw through the lens!
